A bill prohibiting declination or termination of property insurance based solely upon a home owner’s possession of a certain breed of dog; and providing exception.
If you own ANY breed of dog that appears to be one of a number of breeds, including German Shepherd, Rottweiler, Akita, St. Bernard, Great Dane, Doberman Pincsher, pit bull, etc. You know that many insurance companies will reject providing Home Owners Insurance to you because of the insurance industries infamous list of what THEY consider ‘dangerous dogs’. THIS IS DISCRIMINATION…with this bill they will not be allowed to deny a home owner coverage based on the type of dog that home owner chooses. Please contact Delegate Clif Moore who is chair of Banking and ask him to place this bill on his agenda. 304 340-3189 or firstname.lastname@example.org This bill first goes to Banking and Insurance and then to Judiciary.
