The Yazoo, Mississippi Board of Aldermen meet today (Monday, September 24, 2012) at 2:00 p.m. in the Board Room at the city police department. Yazoo officials have instructed the city attorneys to research breed specific ordinances in surrounding areas with the intention of implementing a similar ordinance for the city.
I have not been able to confirm if the city attorneys have presented their findings to the Board. However, since a breed specific ordinance is on the table, today’s Board meeting is an excellent opportunity for residents to address this matter and make their concerns about BSL known to their aldermen.
To address the Board of Aldermen, simply go to City Hall and fill out an Agenda Request form.
In the meantime, the rest of us should continue to send our polite, respectful and informative opposition to the Yazoo city officials and city attorney, along with viable alternatives and suggestions for their consideration.
