Lillian Wainwright has chosen today’s nominee for National Pit Bull Awareness Month, and that person is LeeAnn O’Reilly.
LeeAnn has been a leading figure in the fight in Canada against breed specific legislation, and against the province of Ontario’s Dog Owners Liability Act which bans all pit bull type dogs in Ontario. She has given numerous, tireless effort and hours to this cause. She is the president of the Dog Legislation Council of Canada. LeeAnn is tenacious, honest, and completely trustworthy. I hope that you do consider this marvelous person.
Well, Lillian, I couldn’t agree with you more. LeeAnn was one of my first BSL mentors. She is the moderator for the BSL Updates yahoo group, a group with a large, devoted following. LeeAnn is always willing to answer questions and listen when anyone has concerns or just needs further explanation about an issue concerning breed specific legislation. I have learned so much from her, as I know many others have, as well. LeeAnn is fiery and outspoken on her positions, and she definitely walks the walk.
On behalf of Bless the Bullys and the National Pit Bull Awareness Campaign, thank you, LeeAnn, for your years of dedication to the fight against BSL, and for the positive example you are to us all.
