Tonight’s nominee for National Pit Bull Awareness Month comes to us from Margo Willmes.
I would like to nominate Jason Flatt, Friends to the Forlorn Pitbull Rescue. Jason and some other rescue friends spend countless hours working in the inner city to educate and help the people there who have pit bulls. He started with a couple young guys who had their dogs chained and were going to breed them. He took them to a “shelter” where few, if any, of the pit bulls will leave thru the front door. He convinced these guys to let him spay and neuter their dogs. He gave them crates. He gave them leashes and food and vaccinated their dogs. Their dogs are now living inside. They then started bringing him friends who wanted to do right by their dogs as well. And it continues on and on….more people calling him…wanting their dogs fixed and vaccinated. Instead of looking down on people, he educates them and they are now becoming part of the solution, rather than the problem.
On behalf of Bless the Bullys and the National Pit Bull Awareness Campaign, thank you Jason for your hard work and dedication, and helping others to be part of the solution! Keep up the great work!
