Fairburn, GA: Take a stand against BSL

The Newnan Cowetta Humane Society is organizing opposition an ordinance that will be introduced by a Fairburn, GA city councilman at the November 14 council meeting that would ban and/or regulate “pit bulls” or other “restricted breeds of dogs.” Councilman Scott Vaughn’s proposal is modeled on what he calls a “Colorado law” which would make it unlawful for any person to have, own, possess, keep, exercise control over, maintain, harbor, transport or sell within the city any pit bull or restricted breed of dog.

If you are in or around the Fairburn area and you want to take an active role in opposing discriminatory laws targeting specific breeds of dogs, please contact the Newnan Cowetta Humane Society at nchs_rescue@numail.org. As noted above, Councilman Vaughn plans to introduce this ordinance on Monday, November 14, 2011 at 7:00 p.m., and they would like to have a large number of citizens there to show unified opposition to BSL.
