Tupelo, MS: Resident to speak on proposed ordinance at tonight’s council meeting

The Tupelo, Mississippi city council meets tonight, Tuesday, December 20, 2011. On the council agenda is a “citizens hearing” where a resident will speak about the proposed dog ordinance. Council discussion of the ordinance itself, however, is not on the agenda, but there will likely be an exchange of some sort after the resident speaks. The proposed ordinance targets rottweilers and dobermans. Pit bulls are already regulated in Tupelo.

Those in the area are encouraged to attend the council meeting that starts at 6:00 p.m. and is held at city hall, 71 East Troy Street, Tupelo, MS.

In the meantime, please continue to write to the Tupelo officials to voice your polite, respectful and informative opposition, as well as alternatives to, breed specific legislation.
