BSL on council agendas for August 20, 2012

Discussions about breed specific ordinances are on tonight’s agendas in Newark, Ohio and York County, SC:

Newark, Ohio
Residents in Newark, Ohio requested the city repeal its breed specific ordinance and replace it with a breed-neutral ordinance in line with the new state law. Several officials agreed with the residents, and the council took their request into consideration. The council will be discussing that issue at tonight’s meeting. The meeting begins at 7:00 p.m. at Council Chambers at City Hall.

York County, South Carolina
The York County, SC council will be discussing an ordinance that, among other things, targets “bully breeds” at tonight’s council meeting. The meeting starts at 6:00 p.m. at Council Chambers at City Hall in York, SC.

This proposal has the potential to affect an entire county. It is very, very important that York County residents attend this meeting. Some members of the council are not pleased about receiving input from non-residents, so a good showing of locals is extremely important!
