Today’s honoree for National Pit Bull Awareness Month is Daisy Balawejder. Daisy was nominated by Kelley Baumgartel.
Daisy is the president of Hello Bully, a Pittsburgh based non-profit group dedicated to rehabilitating the reputation of the Pit Bull. She is devoted to spending her time training, teaching and pursuing legislative actions to advocate for this misunderstood breed. She is loving, accepting, patient and has poured all of her energy into establishing the newly developed “Hello Bully Halfway House”, which has served as a transition home for many dogs confiscated from fighting situations.
Daisy Balawejder is an extraordinary exemplar of Pit Bull advocacy. She has inspired countless dog owners, who have volunteered their time to help this cause. I can think of no other person more deserving than this recognition.
While I have never “officially” met Daisy, we have corresponded many times, and her dedication and love for pit bulls is unwavering. Anyone who knows Daisy has been inspired by her work and motivated to do more.
On behalf of Bless the Bullys and the National Pit Bull Awareness Campaign, thank you, Daisy! You are truly an inspiration to us all!
