Hopeful news out of Chariton, Iowa

Residents in Chariton, Iowa presented their case for repealing or modifying the city’s pit bull ordinance at last night’s city council meeting.  I spoke with the Chariton city manager today, and he advised that more than one resident addressed the council, and he seemed impressed with the manner in which they made their presentations.

As a result, the city council is forming a task force consisting of vets, animal welfare representatives and citizens to look at the ordinance.  The task force is expected to present their recommendations to the city council in the spring.

GREAT JOB by all those working hard on this in Chariton.  W’re extremely proud of you for standing up for what you believe in and the progress you’re making.
